Overview of Position Application Form

Issue outbound calls with the purpose to collect on consumer debts for a diverse clientele. Effectively communicate; responsible for presenting successful collection tactics including but not limited to: negotiation, determination, active listening, confident rebuttals, time management and persuasion. Adhere to all FDCPA, State and internal compliance guidelines. Present professional and focused demeanor at all times. Meet and/or exceed individual and unit goals. Positively contribute to the team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Successfully negotiate account resolution through payments, settlements, partial payments or via account follow up (updated insurance, obtaining proof of payment-itemized statement request, etc).
  • Meet individual and team goals through focus and self motivation.
  • Manage time effectively: competently utilize dialer system as well as issue manual calls. Document all consumer interactions per company/client guidelines.
  • Competently utilize all internal applications including debtor database and dialer; follow all work standards for appropriate account work flow.
  • Escalate accounts appropriately for most effective collection flows (skip tracing, CBR, etc).
  • Adhere to all compliance and company policies/guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance per company requirements.
  • Escalate calls to Supervisor/Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Qualification Standards

  • Basic telephone techniques and etiquette
  • Good verbal communication skills, strong work ethic, energetic, organization skills a must
  • Basic PC skills, Windows based
  • High School diploma
  • Consumer Collection, Commercial Collection, Sales, Telemarketing or Customer Service experience
  • Must possess the ability to engage the following traits when necessary: goal driven, self motivation, persistence, problem solving, professionalism and focus on account resolution
  • Thorough understanding of Collection Laws: FDCPA, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and other State/Federal laws as they are deemed applicable to the company for compliance and regulatory reasons
  • Ability to sit at a desk, wear a headset and issue calls for 8 hours a day
